” Due to our current economy, we will no longer be able to honor patients wishing to be billed in monthly installments.”

“All payments are due on the day of service”

I’m here to tell you…Don’t believe the HYPE!

The only real “down economy” is in your HEAD!

Mass Media sole intenetion is to tell you what to think, drink, buy,wear, smell like, feel like, drive, ride,do, act like, etc, etc.

A business associate was informing me the other day how

“bad ” business was because of the economy. I thought to myself…” It won’t get any better with those thoughts in his head .”

I want to know do you possess a gut-wrenching desire for a dream(s) or goals.

It doesn’t interest me how old you are, I want to
know if you will risk looking like a fool for your dreams and for the
adventure of being alive.

I don’t need to know how hard you’ve worked all your life for peanuts, I want to know did you learn how to make peanut butter?
It doesn’t matter how many friends and family made near-successful attempts to talk you out of your dreams, I want to know that you acquired the skill of selective deafness.
I don’t want to know how many times you filed bankruptcy, I want know that you will not quit banking on your dreams.
I don’t want to know how many failed marriages you’ve had, I want to know did you leave your spouse in a “sunny” disposition.

No Peeking!

Are you praying and hoping for a miracle(s) in your life?, so are millions of other lost souls, including yours truly from time to time. These people are playing GOD, trying to figure out when and where this miracle is coming from and from who…STOP this NON-SENSE!!!, it will only drive you crazy.

Every time, I have caught myself doing this peeking(trying to predict where and when), I’m so wrong all the time, that I finally stopped trying to figure it out, and just started living.

If you pray daily, walk calmly, wait patiently, you have done all you can do…GOD will do the rest.

…And remember, when this miracle appears “out-of nowhere” in your life, please, please, do not, I repeat, DO NOT try to explain it, exclaim it, intellect it, or even dissect it…just accept it, and ENJOY!

Change Is GOOD!

Selling Home Security Systems for a living is a blast, and sometimes break your heart, along with your confidence. I’m much better than when I started selling them at taking the good with the” not-so good”.

What changed?….A close friend and confidant enlightened me to the fact that every 24 hours, the wind changes, meaning the exact opposite of what you experience now will be totally different within 24hours, be that good or bad.

I started thinking, and I encourage you to do the same, that every time something not in your favor happens, remember …something good, better, or greater is going to happen to you within 24 hours. I know, you’re thinking what about all the bad things that have been happening to me lately, etc, etc…., I say whine, whine, whine, and you will keep them coming to you. I’m sure there’s no one under thirty here, so I say to you change your thinking to focus on what you wish to happen to you, it will be…..not like magic,… a little patience is involved, but you must be FOCUSED on what you WANT!!!

Successful Gasoline Marketing, or something like that.

Remember the summer of 2008 , regular unleaded gas…averaging $3.80 plus…everywhere in your town the price was pretty much the same, which threw up a red flag for me personally that this is pure bullshit…the pricing that is.

Fast-forward to spring 2009, prices started to tumble down a bit, then decline a bit more…then F##$%king memeorial day showed up, and you guessed it…prices went back up.

Mid-summer , the prices start to decline again, and decline, and decline, but not quite under two dollars, for regular unleaded.

Here we are today, fall 2009 with gas prices back where we were in 2004 and before that.

Gas Prices have reverted back to BNGP and WNGP..HUH?

Let me explain, I’m in sales, so I do alot of driving, I mean alot of driving(avg 150-160milesper day) all around Atlanta, in a plethora of different social-economic neighborhoods.

I started to notice back in 2002 that gas prices had color too!!! When I’m in a white neighborhood..prices are much lower than they are in their black counterparts’ neighborhoods on the other side of the “Wal-Mart” or starbucks, or whatever term you like.

For instance, just the other day (OCT. 15, 2009)..WNGP(white neighborhood gas price), regular unleaded $2.11/gal, BNGP(black neighborhood gas price) regular unleaded $2.49/gal. The pictures are what it feels like is actually happening with these prices. The whites price on the right, the black price on the left.

Please understand, that I realize the is capitalistic America, which I am all for making as much money as you can handle…and then some…to give away. This is crazy, stupid, in 2009! The folks who need the most help are the ones who foot the the bill for the ones who need it the least.

Same chain of gas stations..same gas…different neighborhood..different price.. I see this on a regular daily basis. NOW that according to the media sources..”Gas prices are falling”, yeah right..only in the white neighborhoods!!!!!!!!!!!you figure it out. Enough said . I’m done. What do you think?

Do blacks get what they deserve?

As I stood in the long post office line the other day, I notice a lot of grim faces, more than likely related to the long wait with only 1 clerk working. I smiled at everyone that made eye-contact with me. Somehow, for some reason, the man with the more salt than pepper hair with overalls and raggedy boots in front of me wouldn’t turn around for me to greet him, so I initiated…”I love this rain”(jokingly)(it had been raining for seven straight days, several times per day)…he turned around, ” then come and mop up the water in my basement”(we laughed). I finally got a chance to greeted him with a smile.

We made small talk about the weather,recent local headlines, his pending retirement from the United States post office(he was mailing the papers on this day), then he dropped a bombshell!

He names several post office locations where he had worked, then he started to compare the service in those areas(mostly white neighborhoods). I informed him that I’m in sales and run a small business. I shared with him that I frequent many post offices to mail invoices to my customers and was very familiar with all the locations he had named, and my daily schedule takes me to a plethora of zip codes throughout the metro Atlanta area.

He stated, ” in those areas, white people don’t stand for this crap!”, they would write their congressman, senator, T.V. Station, whoever could and would make this line shorter.” I agreed…” why do you think that is ?” I Chimed in. “We always complain about things, we are not willing to do anything about.”…”we can’t get off work”, we have a lot of single parent households, so after work we’re too tired to think at all.” he continued. He whispered. “It’s a shame, that we don’t care about anything but ourselves these days “ “The post office has the money with these ever-increasing postage prices, look in the white areas where they have very nice, and new facilities and no one in line”…maybe 1 or 2 people”, the minute that line appears to overwhelm the clerk(s), someone falls from the sky(from the back room)…”may I help you?” “it’s sad.” he said.

I asked him does he have any internet intellect(know how to navigate the internet).

“Yes, a little”, he stated. I shared with him that on the internet you don’t have to be somebody powerful to make powerful changes. You don’t have to take off work, you don’t have to….he interrupted, ” but how many black people you think are going to take the time to really, and truely improve their community, unless it has something to do with some celebrity, materialistic item, or whatnot(a person, place, or thing AKA a NOUN)?” I stared him straight in the eye for a few seconds, then replied….The key is to not worry about who will not do it, it starts with you, you can start a revolution in this neighborhood.” ” I don’t live in this neighborhood, but I know somebody, who does, which is you..I care about you..so it’s time to go to work on getting a better post office in this neighborhood.” ” Thank you, Mack, it was very nice to meet you..I will remember what you said.” I replied. “are you gonna do anything about it?” he nodded. we waved goodbye to each other with a smile.

This is a small feat in the grand scheme of things, that can be accomplished, with a positive attitude and determination. I know this task may seem a bit scary for this gentleman, who is not very abreast on the internet, but it can be DONE!

I think of this as “Practice” for a bigger goal.

It’s better to sweat in practice, than to bleed on the battlefield.

You see, it does not take a new law, or an invention to change the world…just good people doing good things….MAKE THAT CHANGE!
